Abstract
This paper investigated the feasibility of offering specialized tracks under the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program of Lyceum of the Philippines University-Batangas, Mobile Application Development and Game Development. The objectives were (1) to determine the respondents’ profile and inclination to enroll BS Computer Science, (2) assess the readiness of the College of Computer Studies to offer the specialized tracks in terms of human resources and facilities, and (3) validate the need to offer specialized tracks under the BS Computer Science program. The study used the descriptive method utilizing a questionnaire. The method was used since it is the intention of the study to describe analytically an existing situation regarding the operation and present state of LPU-Batangas as basis for the preparation of a plan to offer specialized tracks under the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program. The results of the study may serve as basis in offering programs that are easily marketable and suited to the growing needs of the business industries, particularly the cyber sector. The study revealed that offering specialized tracks under the BS Computer Science program is feasible. The external and internal aspects were both favorable to the University specifically its College of Computer Studies; the needed tools, equipment and human resources are readily available, and after students graduate, job opportunities were available and sufficient.
