in your presentation, I'm not sure about the 5 rules of kevin lynch. Could you explain more about the 5 rules apply methodology to design the new masterplan? It's wiil enhance my understanding of the project.

Sutthipan Udom (Visitor)

If designed as proposed, will increase the chances of a city revival to better than the 1 Euro project?

Hi Ajarn P'Keng

Interested project!, and i have some question about your project below.

Can you explain more about 1Euro project and their benefit thru your design method?

RANGSIT JIEMPUNYA,Mr. (Visitor)

Very impressive topic, there are many unique towns in a world that have a problem like this and want to redevelop for town-survive.We alway saw many old stories through paths plants open-space canels and rivers bridges buildings and many man-made figures in the long historical town or city, that was known legend of town. It's represented as town identity and should be always recognized for all time.

So,what is the Identity of this town and how did you use in 3 developing areas in your study?

Thee Nabhindhakara (Visitor)

Interestimg project. However, I have 1 question about the estimated result in term of number of tourist comparing beyween before and after.

Nasreen Sirihasan (Presenter)

Thank you for the question K.SUTTHIPAN UDOM

The revival of this city was better in terms activity arising from the physical characteristics of the area And what the images reflect or the meaning of the area.

Nasreen Sirihasan (Presenter)

Thank you for the question Ajarn RAPIPHONG

I use 5 rules of Kevin Lynch 'Image of the city' to study the physical of Sumbuca city. According to the study, it gives me direction about the design and the area of my project. Develop to connect  Economics quarter to Arab quarter.

Nasreen Sirihasan (Presenter)

Thank you for the question Ajarn THEE NABHINDHAKARA.

The project is not based on the hypothesis where the city will be revived and attract more tourists after improving the environment. Number of tourists was not the key factor in designing this project either.

But There're the result in design which affects in many ways as follows

1 Travelling

The town has passageway separate between foot paths for tourism and roads to decrease accidents and narrow passageway.

2 Living space From abandon and unmanaged area, after developed and managed the area to be the most efficiency such as public area, green are, car parks for the living quality, street art and plaza for giving an impetus to economics.

3 The tourism an accommodation for tourist (Hostel) to attract teenagers/backpacker and vocation house to attract the family traveler or long-term stay.

4 Conservation Keep the unique appearance building, arts and architecture to conserve and attract the tourist.

5 Economy and Investment A Recuperation of economy of the town and building the long-term income to the government under hostel project which is the local business belong to government.

Thank you for the question Ajarn RANGSIT JIEMPUNYA.

Sumbuca city’s identity is the figure and ground similar to that in North Africa. The city has arab and baroque architecture worth conserving in terms of representing the physical areas where out of the 3, 1 is turned into a street art. I then transform a piece of architecture called “Sabat” to help design to maintain the same, old architecture to conserve its cultures, arts, and architecture.

Nasreen Sirihasan (Presenter)

Thank you for the question Ajarn THIRACHAT UTTAMAVETIN

The 1 Euro project is part of the background. It is not successful because it only helps with the economy. Therefore, the researcher would like to suggest a way to revive the city using the Urban rehabilitation theory as it helps improve the areas while at the same, keeps the city’s identity and the areas’ values not just the economy.
